The Captain’s Chair Has A Knob On The End – Part 8

Thud!

Image via Wikipedia

Suddenly, Trip runs into the room wearing nothing but his underwear. It had a beaver on the front.
Trip: Holy Mother of Sweet Baby Jebus, it stings! Aaaaarghh!
And runs out the room.
Archer: Well, why are they here?
Orangutan: Ook.
WIZZARD: It appears they are after the same thing we are. They are after… the Bomb! They are planning on using against your planet.
Archer: Oh no!
Capt. Carrot: It makes sense, it is classed as a Weapon of Most Annihilation (WOMAn).
Trip runs into the room again.
Trip: AAAIIIE! IT BURNS!!!
And runs out again.
Archer: Woah, how did you pronounce brackets?
Orangutan: Eek.
WIZZARD: There is no telling who else might appear from your past adventures, or ours. We must make haste and find the Bomb!
Archer: Right, that does it. Can we count on your help?
Capt.Carrot: Yes. It is my duty to arrest aforesaid miscreants and recover the Bomb.
WIZZARD: Whatever. It’s not like I actually have a sa…
Orangutan: Ook. Eek ook EEK! Ook. Eek.
WIZZARD: Yes.
Archer: What?
Wizzard: Yes, that’s what he said.
And again...
Trip: My Beaver! My Beaver! My Beaver is on Fire!
And out…
To be continued…

Talk to the hand ‘cos the face is elsewhere.

Immortality: Part duex

The globular cluster M80. Stars in globular cl...

Image via Wikipedia

I wrote a prequel to this but I can’t it. This will be much shorter.

It is to do with the life-span of the common garden variate atom, which has no span per se. This means that when your ‘alive’ the human brain grows and dies very predictably until its actual death.

Then it does something quite remarkable. It travels in parts for millions, billions of years spanning galaxies, even star clusters until it springs upon a new life form and starts again.

It has no idea were it is from or were it’s going but do you think that sounds more reasonable than religion.

I remember a strange thing which I can’t quite put my hands on. Its basically a fear that I have for my personal safety, not because of me… but we’ll, when I was in meditation camp Columbia took a dive.

And then when I was fighting my first stroke my (second) favorite author expired.

On my visit last December Tokyo was gone. I hope I get to see what comes next.

Friends

I need to find new friends as my old friends dont have time for me now that I have had a stroke (or two).
In other news, I almost died this Christmas. Did anyone care?

Have to take a WikiLeaks…

Logo used by Wikileaks

Image via Wikipedia

I am not, never have been and probably never going to WikiLeaks. I’m just not that interested in anything as mundane as what humans are thinking about now. Frankly, I couldn’t be bothered.

However, I do not agree to the idiocy heaped upon WikiLeaks by the rest of the world. Amazon, Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, EveryDNS… goverments all trying to ban something that leaked something that was available to millions anyway. And It’s on the internet, so booyah to the idiots who try to keep it down.

I vote the entire archive be officially available as a Bit-torrent download. Lets see them stop that. 🙂

Now showing…

Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens)

Image via Wikipedia

Firefox has adopted two “Firefoxes”, or red pandas and are having a streaming 24 hour live feed of them, well, being them.

Attention goes to the left sidebar where you have the somewhat amusing “Download Firefox to help the cubs get their next treat”. Counting the days until the sign changes to “Download Firefox or the cubs DIE!”

Hehe.

RIP, Les.

I’m having a little trouble now that Leslie’s gone. Don’t know why. I saw all his late movie, even the shitty one’s because he was in them.

So long and don’t call him Curley.

Dead

Sword of the Stars

Image via Wikipedia

I literally could go at any time. I could go in a freak Starcraft accident. Could choke to death on a peach. Electrocuted by a falling pumpernickel. Run over by… well pretty much anything. I just don’t know and really could care how I go. I’m 32ish but I have no idea what my brain is like since it reformed itself three years ago.

I lead a very steady boring life. Shuttle to work and back every day and one trip to the supermarket and to pick up my daughter and back. That’s pretty much it. Still I can’t help thinking about death.

I’m not depressed or anything, I don’t feel that way anymore.

In other news I’m playing a couple of games now. Starcraft 2 for one and Civilization V. And Sword of the Stars and some other thing similar but I have no idea what it is called.

aliens in my dreams…

A Man Running - Eadweard Muybridge

Image via Wikipedia

I see aliens every day, though they are not quite what they seem. They’re bipedal, laterally symmetrical, walk upright on two legs and are more ‘evolved‘ than lower primates from whom they are related.

Commonly called ‘humans‘, or the masculine pronoun ‘man’.

I see them every day and though I am a part of their species I only superficially call them my own. They frighten me, or they would if I could feel fear anymore. More like puzzle and confuse me with their speed and there talking of not much at all, but a lot of it to vex me.

Language is English which the only language I know and am forced to use, but purely and mistakes that I don’t know about… and meanings of words that don’t go anywhere to the complexity I require.

I often wonder why human are like the way they are and immediately am overwhelmed by the entirety of ‘evolution’ thinking, feeling each little insignificant change that caused an earthworm to progress to an ape to a human. And maybe if we survive long enough we can transform in to some other thing.

I wonder every now and then why humans have only the limbs and orifices they have and not more, or less. How every animal has two hindquarters and two more in front of them and one head, one mouth and two of everything else. I think they are quite balanced and any ‘excess’ would have been ‘evolved’ out.

Take birds, when archeopteryx was very young it was no different from the dinosaurs that preceded it… only it was smaller and covered with fur. A million or so years later it only had two legs and wings where it’s arms would be. It no longer needed it’s claws or if it did it can place it on its rear legs. Therefore a griffin must remain ever more a myth banished from reality.

So from there on the knees bend back, the arms move in there own way and we’ve got a creature whose indexed himself as the top of the food chain. Well, most of the time. So this must be the blueprint for all animals out there, with a few minor variations.

Wait… I forgot millipedes, oh crabs.

Fool me once…

CL1358+62, the farthest object in the observab...

Image via Wikipedia

It never ceases to amaze me that this observable Universe of 100 billion galaxies and one sextillion stars, and an unobservable multitude more can be believed to be governed by a god with manly emotions. Rage, fear, jealousy… all emotions that are ascribed to god that are shared by man.

Why emotions… why not a benevolent being who doesn’t contradict himself every other chapter. Why a god who is jealous and a book which is full of hate. And what and earth does god have against a fruit. (Jeremiah 29:17)

If the bible was true then we wouldn’t have made any technological and societal changes since the end of the bible. We had no need to since everything we needed was written in a little book somewhere. But we have evolved despite a large number of us holding onto yesterdays news.

I believe in science; Not because we know the answers but because the answers lead to questions. This is good because I’ll never be bored as there’ll be always something new behind everything.
